madden 11 September 4, 2010 los panda probably the worst madden i have ever played. a good game all around, but very much to improve upon. if you have never played madden, do not start with this one.
Slow but good graphics September 3, 2010 MD38 Rent this game don't buy it. I found the game play slow. The graphics were better but not good enough for me to keep playing it.
Compared to last year September 3, 2010 Tim (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Compared to last year the game-play is much better but it sacrifices franchise options. The online options are much better so if you play online and enjoy better game-play you will like this game but if you only do franchise then you will be upset. Also create a player is terrible but madden moments are pretty cool. Definitely a switch from last year where you needed a good quarterback and could survive with an average running back and average offensive line. This year you need a very good running back and an above average offensive line but can get by with an accurate but average QB. Going across the middle is a little to easy but running the ball and going deep is tough. sprint is gone but I actually like it, there is also a game-call mode where they pick the play for you if you want which saves you time, also you don't need to wait to watch cut-scenes and you can play a game in about 2/3 of the time that you could last year, which is nice. I don't see why they took away so many of the franchise options and create a player options because they don't seem to complicated for the programmers. I like it but every year I am still ticked off at EA by how they are charging us $60 and have tons of in game advertisements, either put more money into a complete game or drop the price of the game. overall I would grade the game a B+ due to value of replay, would have gotten an A if the franchise options and create a player options were not taken out.
Same old sh.... September 3, 2010 james (Cleveland, OH) Each year, this company comes out with a new marketing gimmick for this game.. Last year it was "If you see it on Sunday, You'll see it in Madden." So that means, instead of fixing the gameplay and animations and truly progressing the series forward, they added things like guys playing cornhole before the game, or people waiting in line for merchandise.. This year, their gimmicks are: "Locomotion", and "Play Games in Half the Time." First of all, Locomotion is worthless. The players still move exactly as they did last year. Second of all, Play Games in Half the Time refers to the player shutting the game off half way through, because they're fed up with this crap.
I thought that with Backbreaker coming out, Madden would've gotten a bit of a kick in the pants to get going, but no. They released the exact same game as last year, only with the pre-snap controls made more complicated and updated rosters.
The same five tackles from last year happen again this year. If you dive tackle at a QB, you'll float in mid air next touching the QBs body until after he completes the pass, then it goes into the sack animation. This game is really pathetic and feels like a giant lateral from last year. Same thing all over again, same problems, new marketing gimmicks.
Great September 3, 2010 Matthew Simon Madden is a great game....my only con is that the offenses in this one seem to be unbalance vs. defense. Offensive players are always breaking tackles of 3 guys and running for touchdowns.
